Amol Meshram, executive engineer and designated officer of C Ward, said, "HM Petit building is a C1 category dilapidated structure which is extremely dangerous for habitation. All items are baked in-house and the cavernous interior even has an old traditional furnace - and a little well - in its premises. This Irani restaurant is known for its kheema pav, bun maska and khari biscuits. Sunshine, Bakery, Restaurant and Beer Bar was the frequent haunt of superstar Rajesh Khanna, who lived nearby, as well as actor Pradip Patwardhan and politician Pramod Navalkar. The decrepit 120-year-old HM Petit Widows' Home building in which this Irani hotel is located, will be razed by the BMC after November 30.
MUMBAI: The landmark 100-year-old Sunshine Bakery at Thakurdwar, Girgaum, will roll down shutters on Sunday.
